I’m excited to introduce my latest work, "Heron in Wax and Watercolor," an 11 by 14-inch painting that blends the fluidity of watercolor with the resist and texture of wax. The heron’s curved neck and layered earthy tones create a textured presence, while the warm pastel background, accented with abstract vertical lines and white splatters, brings a sense of movement and lightness to the piece. This artwork grew from experimenting with batik techniques during art class, which offered a fresh way to combine mediums and explore both realism and abstraction in a single composition. It was a rewarding process that challenged me to rethink how I build depth and texture, and I’m glad to share this new direction.
