I’m happy to share my latest watercolor, "Whispered Blush on Slate." This 8 by 10 inch piece features a single, large flower with soft pink petals set against a muted bluish-gray background. I worked to capture the delicate layering and subtle texture of each petal, aiming for a gentle contrast that lets the bloom quietly command attention. The process started with careful washes that built depth and softness, giving the flower a light, almost impressionistic feel. Creating this piece in my watercolor class was a refreshing reminder of how much can be expressed through simplicity and restraint. The wooden frame with its warm brown finish complements the colors and brings a grounded elegance to the artwork.
